The Story…(yawn)

If her aim in life was to live long enough to embarrass her children, Kathryn Bendall certainly has succeeded!

After stepping down from a successful corporate career at the age of 54, she sought the financial rewards of stand up comedy, much to the horror of her three adult children!

Today Kathryn is in demand on the  lucrative NSW comedy circuit and runs Comedy on the Rox, one of Sydney’s favourite comedy rooms. Kathryn started open mic comedy in February 2004 and immediately struck gold being selected as a finalist in 2Day FM’s Search for a Comedy God. Later that year she made it to the NSW state finals of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Raw Comedy.

In 2006 Kathryn founded the celebrated Wicked Women comedy and events format, which has grown in popularity and stature. In 2009 Wicked Women and Kathryn hit the road playing to huge houses around Sydney with headliners Kitty Flanagan and Fiona O’Loughlin.

In 2008, Kathryn played The Meat Inspector, a supporting role in Amelia Jane Hunter and Hannah Gadsby’s award-winning Melbourne International Comedy Festival Show, Meat the Musical, and performed at The Big Joke Comedy Festival in Bangalow.

In 2010, Kathryn staged her solo show Kath on a Hot Tin Roof (produced by Jennifer Wong) at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, earning rave reviews as well as the distinction of being the festival’s oldest debutant in its history.
