Adelaide video blogger, Mema Sifa, came to see Kath on a Hot Tin Roof on opening night, and has just emailed a ‘handmade’ souvenir of the evening!
Mema created this fun and kooky review for a competition, so by watching this video which has a few snippets of Kathryn’s show in Adelaide, you’ll also be helping Mema progress in Samsung’s U10 Shoot to Share competition. Please support this fellow artist on her creative quest!
For a transcript of the video, please visit Mema’s blog. Thanks, Mema!

Note from Jen:
With only three shows left in Adelaide, it was a big surprise just now to spot another review of Kath on a Hot Tin Roof!
Here’s hoping that the enthusiasm of the two Rip It Up reviewers will translate to some crowded dancing in the aisles by Sunday’s final show! What a ride it’s been so far…
Kath On A Hot Tin Roof Austral Hotel – The Bunka, Wed Mar 3
Reviewed by Ian Newton and Kate Battersby
Sometimes you see an act that has it all: anxiety, cancer, tits, kids and facial hair, whales, cracked nipples, ice cream and bridges; barbies, broken bones, the Labor Party, Cubs and bums. “Impossible!” I hear you say. Hell, no! A life lived with passion and told with love (and a little bit of piss-taking), a constant tickling of the humour bone and a bucket of pathos, this story will lift you up above the fence line.
Sassy and fabulous Kathryn-with-a-K takes you on a suburban journey of true life. Don’t take it on trust, see for yourself: truly authentic storytelling that makes reality TV’s ‘journey’ look like a crawl.
Final word: Breakneck.
Kath On A Hot Tin Roof continues at The Bunka at The Austral Hotel until Sunday 14 March. Tickets can be booked online on the Adelaide Fringe website.

Apologies for the short notice, but Kathryn is speaking at the SageCo Wisdom Circle today at 2.30 pm, Level 10, 60 Currie St, Adelaide.
The details are:
Ageing Workforce: Not a fringe issue
A SageCo Wisdom Circle featuring special guests:
- Linda Matthews, South Australian Commissioner for Equal Opportunity
- Kathryn Bendall, Oldest debut comic, Adelaide Fringe 2010
hosted by SageCo – ageing workforce specialists
“Genuine choice is the key to success in supporting and increasing mature age workplace participation – choice to work if we need to, choice to work if we want to. Enabling this choice is important because, for various reasons, many people wish to work longer – and let’s face it, people have a right to work.”
- Commentary on the release of the 2010 Intergenerational Report, Elizabeth Broderick, Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Commissioner responsible for Age Discrimination, Australian Human Rights Commission
An invitation for Adelaide’s senior HR strategists and practitioners in the public sector to participate in a round table discussion on:
-
How can organisations support the working choices of employees in late career?
-
What are the barriers? What are the breakthroughs?
-
What are the risks? What are the returns?
We encourage you to share your reflections on these questions in a lively two hour wisdom circle facilitated by Adelaide-based SageCo director, Catriona Byrne.
