Heart be still! Just a call from the organizers of RAW asking if I could be one of the three judges for Heat #1, this Monday of …….RAW!!!. I hope they don’t think that my grovelly news item about RAW starting was some sort of toady way of getting an invite to the most exciting thing in January comedy. Too Bad!
As a newly officiated RAW judge, I’m there with the very sober and squeaky newly appointed by the NSW Attorney General (no less) Marriage Celebrant, Mr. Chris North. He’ll be partnering Mr. Tom Ballard and me. Oooooh My God! Could Tom Ballard be hubby number 4?
I’ve just inserted a small tease of me in my (last)wedding nightdress just in case Tom has any concerns.
I’m sure Chris could make the union legally binding (remember he’s been approved by the NSW Attorney General) if he put his signature somewhere. Like the judges notes. And…. Tom Ballard as a judge? What excitement! What Talent!
Mr. Sam Simmons is officiating on stage (and no doubt offering big sloppy, comforting hugs backstage) so this is really a very special night…for everyone!
Can’t wait to see everyone on the night and remember as my close friend Ben Ellwood Elton reminded us plebs recently, stand-up comedy is the only career where your bottom ages at twice the rate of your face.
So there should be a lot of 40 year old bottoms on stage Monday. I’m too much of a lady to tell you how old my bottom is….but all I will say is that it loves a little gossip from the Gallipoli gang!
RAW kicks off next Monday Night January 10th-its the Comedy Launch of 2011

Enough Plum Puddings, roast turkey, crackling already, I am so happy that
comedy is back and kicking for 2011…I just couldn’t eat another thing. RAW at the comedy store signals the best part of the Startup Sydney Summer, I go along every week hoping to see some shiny new comic who just doesn’t know that they’re a shiny new comic and what’s awaiting them. Julia (Miss Fatmouse) loves it too and we get there and chat away like magpies or minor birds or galahs….but we love it. Hurry on Monday and fingers crossed for everyone starting out in Stand-up this year. Start at The Melbourne International Comedy Festivals RAW competition and then pop over and see us at Comedy on the Rox (we’d love to see you…!!)
